Sandy Lovisa, the precision of a rising champion

At just 14 years old, Sandy Lovisa made a strong impression at the 2025 Porthos Tournament.A finalist in this demanding one-touch competition — a true test of composure and precision — he was narrowly defeated by Switzerland’s Lionel Bosshard, but stood out as the best French representative of the event.
Soon, he will benefit from the mentorship of Camille Nabeth, member of the French national team, within the program launched by Aramis & Cie to support and guide promising young fencers.
Fencing: a passion and a discipline
Originally from La Garde-Adhémar, Sandy trains at La Lame de Bergoiata in Bourg-Saint-Andéol, under the guidance of Maître Adrien Semaille, a coach renowned for his experience and dedication.

Since his beginnings at the age of six, Sandy’s commitment and progress have been unwavering. He now trains two to three times a week while keeping school as his first priority.
His successive coaches have helped cultivate his passion for fencing — a love that began while watching the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
“The Porthos Tournament is different. You have to prepare your touch, trigger it at the right moment... and if you get hit, there’s no coming back.So when you land that final touch in the final, it’s an incredible relief!”

Sandy quickly embraced this unique format, where a single mistake can mean elimination. He admits that luck can play a role — but believes mastery and focus are what truly make the difference. By winning six consecutive duels, he proved his ability to handle pressure with remarkable calm.
A clear goal: progress, and aim higher
Already the author of strong results at the Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux, Vénissieux, and Orange Opens, Sandy is far from done. He now sets his sights on a podium finish at the Fête des Jeunes, while nurturing longer-term ambitions: to keep improving and to perform at major national and international events.
When asked if he would like to relive the Porthos experience, his answer came without hesitation:
“Yes — absolutely!”
A promising mentorship
This remarkable journey convinced Camille Nabeth, ambassador of the 2025 Challenge Aramis, to establish a special connection with him.A promising partnership between a top-level athlete and a young talent in the making — one that perfectly embodies the spirit of Aramis & Cie: to transmit, to inspire, and to help the next generation emerge.
