Nolan Wingerter, Patron of the Challenge Aramis 2026

Giving Back, Passing On, Inspiring

Junior World Vice-Champion, member of the French national training center at INSEP, and one of the rising figures of French épée fencing, Nolan Wingerter will be the patron of the Challenge Aramis 2026.

A role he accepted with deep conviction: the desire to pass on what he himself has received and to support the next generation as they take their first steps toward high-level competition.

Originally from Grenoble, Nolan began fencing at the age of five. From an early stage, he followed a structured development path shaped by coaches and masters who played a decisive role in his growth: Hervé Faget, Robin Rieu, Jérôme Roussat, Didier and Louis Marguerettaz, Yoran Vasseur, and Yvan Wingerter.

These figures forged his relationship with hard work, high standards, and team spirit.

His record speaks for itself :

Junior World Vice-Champion in 2024,

  • Third place at the Junior World Cup in Athens,

  • Winner of the Uhlmann Cup (European U23 circuit),

  • and a strong performance at the Monal 2024.

Today, Nolan continues an ambitious journey: qualifying for his first Senior World Cups, breaking into the French top 10, winning a European U23 medal… with the 2028, 2032, and 2036 Olympic Games clearly in his sights.

Beyond results, however, it is meaning and purpose that guide his commitment as a patron.

“For me, this is a way of giving back for what I was offered — the opportunities I was given to try to reach the highest level, and all the hours of work that were invested in me.”

The Challenge Aramis also holds a special place in his personal journey.

“Aramis was the first competition of my life where I faced young international athletes. Looking back, it was already my first contact with high-level fencing. Today, these are the same athletes I now meet again on the international circuit.”

Positive, enthusiastic, and attentive, Nolan sees patronage as far more than a symbolic role. He views it as a human support lever, a space for exchange where the relationship goes both ways.

“Sharing and guidance are, for me, the key to lasting success. It is important to talk about the young person as a whole, not just the athlete.”

A student at Sciences Po Paris and holder of a high-level athlete certificate, Nolan is also pursuing a demanding professional ambition: becoming a geopolitical analyst or sociologist.

According to him, fencing develops skills that are directly transferable beyond

sport: rigor, clarity, organization, and the ability to never give up, even in difficult moments.

His personal motto?

“Who dares, wins.”

By becoming patron of the Challenge Aramis 2026, Nolan Wingerter perfectly embodies the spirit of the event: a living link between generations, sincere transmission, and the conviction that every experience and every encounter can be the beginning of a great story.
