Mathias BIABIANY, Parrain de l'édition 2023

At 29 years old, the man known as "Matt" within the French team describes himself as cheerful and good-natured.

The concept of sharing, which is central to the members of "Aramis & Cie," is one of the reasons he supports and sponsors the 2023 edition of the Challenge Aramis.

His interest in virtual reality reflects an innovative mindset that aligns well with the association's goal of organizing events that break away from tradition and stand out from the conventional approach seen in official competitions.

In terms of mentorship, having been supported throughout my career and still being so, it’s a pleasure for me to do the same for young people who aspire to follow a similar path to mine.

I’ve been practicing fencing for 25 years, having started at the age of 4 in Guadeloupe with the "Escrime Club de Deshaies." My current club is "Rodez Aveyron."

I am currently training with Master Daniel Levavasseur. Among the coaches I’ve had the chance to work with, I have particularly fond memories of Master Richard Charles.

My personal goals:

To be part of the French team selected for the European and World Championships, with the aim of competing in the 2024 Olympics.

My achievements:

  • Ranked 3rd in the world among juniors.

  • French Junior and Senior (National 2) Champion in the same year, 2013.

  • Entered the Senior World Top 40 during the 2016-17 season, including a quarterfinal finish at the Doha Grand Prix.

Other accomplishments:

  • Member of the French National Team from 2014 to 2022.

  • Military World Champion (Acireale 2017).

  • Winner of the European Club Cup (2016).

The contributions of fencing to my professional life:

Practicing fencing and my journey as a high-level athlete have provided me with valuable tools for my professional life, such as calmness, a strong ability to concentrate, and solid self-confidence. My years with the "France" team have also enhanced my teamwork skills and understanding of collective effort.

My message to young people would be:

"Be proud of who you are and what you achieve. Never stop believing in your dreams; only action makes the impossible possible.
