Félix Regnat, one touch to claim his place

Winner of the 2026 Porthos Tournament, the young Swiss fencer from Zuger Fechtclub confirmed in Lyon a season already marked by his first international selection.

A victory in true Porthos format

At Porthos, everything can change with a single touch. One decision, one inspiration, sometimes just a fraction of a second.

In 2026, Félix Regnat managed to master this very special format and add his name to the Porthos Tournament roll of honour.

A season already launched in Grenoble

The young Swiss fencer did not arrive in Lyon by chance. This season, he had already taken an important step with his first international selection in Grenoble, under the Swiss colours. A meaningful experience for this Zuger Fechtclub fencer, engaged in steady progression.

A journey that began very early

Félix started fencing at the age of six. What first attracted him? The desire to try a new sport, and a fencing hall close to home.

Now coached by Solange Emmenegger and Manon Emmenegger, after having been trained by Flavio Da Silva Souza, Félix is moving forward step by step.

What made him stay?

The pleasure of progressing, meeting other fencers, winning matches… and, (as he says with humour) the desire to become better than my brother.

His sixth place at the Swiss U17 Championships, followed by his selection for the U17 EFC event in Grenoble, set the tone for his season.

In Lyon, he confirmed that momentum.

One touch, seven matches, no room for error

The Porthos Tournament holds a special place within the Challenge Aramis. A mixed individual table, direct elimination, one touch: it creates immediate tension.

Félix sums it up simply: it is a “different” tournament.

He acknowledges that:

Luck can play a role, especially in the early rounds.

But luck is not enough to win seven matches…

As the table progressed, Félix managed to remain clear-headed. It was around the sixth match that he truly began to feel he could go all the way.

His sentence perfectly captures the spirit of Porthos:

“Never think about victory before you have actually won it.”

In Lionel’s wake, but in his own light

This victory also carries a special resonance: it comes one year after Lionel Bosshard’s win, a fencer from Zürcher Fechtclub and winner of the 2025 Porthos Tournament. Félix, for his part, represents Zuger Fechtclub. Brought together this year under the colours of team CH11, the two young Swiss fencers shared the same collective adventure.

But the parallel should not obscure the essential point: in 2026, it was Félix who stepped into the spotlight and built his own story.

Lionel provides a reference point, a sense of continuity. Félix brings his own moment. In an edition marked by a strong foreign presence and by Léman’s team victory in the boys’ event, his success confirms the positive Swiss momentum at Porthos.

A title as a stepping stone

But at the heart of this story, above all, is a young fencer taking a step forward. After Grenoble, after Lyon, Félix is already looking ahead: taking part in more international events, learning, progressing, and testing himself against stronger opponents.

In 2026, at the Porthos Tournament, one touch was needed to decide everything.

That touch allowed Félix Regnat to claim his place.
